Viewing: January 2008
Hello everyone,
Another annual general meeting has come and gone and we have some new faces on the executive. We have a new secretary, namely Diane Coward who takes over the reins from Jan Clark We will miss Jan on the executive, but she will no doubt give help to Diane to ease the process of taking over. No one should underestimate the value of a good secretary and Jan has done an outstanding job. Next we have a new 2nd Vice President, namely Joyce McCluskie who takes over the commercial customers from Bill Duggan. Many thanks to Bill for his past service, in keeping the commercial side going smoothly. Trenor Tilley is staying on as treasurer and he will keep us on the right track financially, thank you Trenor. Bill Wright stays on as 1st Vice President in charge of the rallies, thank you Bill. We had a lively meeting on Oct 20th at Traveland. Many thanks to Dale Howes for allowing us to hold the meeting there and providing us with a tasty lunch and including coffee and cookies during the meeting.
We have added 2 additional weekends of camping to our 2008 calender. Our regular Rallies are May 9th to 11th at Burnaby Cariboo and Sept 12th to 14th at Camperland. The 2 new weekends are as follows. June 6th to 8th at Fort Langley and October 3rd to 5th at Burnaby Cariboo. The 2 new weekends are just a camp-out and maybe 1 meal. The executive will not be required to be working at these weekends. Now to some important business. I have found out that the fastest way to learn how to handle a computer is to take on the job as President. A year ago I could not even plug in a computer, but thanks to some welcome instruction and combined with a healthy bit of cursing I can now handle it fairly well. So many thanks to my wife Joyce for helping me out this past year. Whilst I am still thanking various people must commend Barbara Tilley and Barry Clark for the great job of handling the Election.
Regarding the extra weekends, I will let everyone know the cost when I have the Information. Rest assured the costs will be only what we are charged for camping plus the cost of a catered dinner if members want it. We will not start accepting deposits until nearer the time. All for now folks so till next time all the best for the season from Joyce and myself.
