Viewing: March 2010

Greetings RVers,

We have wrapped up the Earlybird RV Show & Sale in Abbotsford the first Show of the year and job well done by Amanda Henschell, Show Manager and her staff.

I must say I had an informative time with the surrounding exhibitors: Attila of Euro Driving School, who kept us supplied with candy, (Attila always has an ad in the Marketpages), Keith from Fuel Stick with his magic organic fuel saving products, Stephen from Edmonds Batteries keeping us supplied in writing paper, Glenn with Boss Technology telling us how to keep our RV looking like new, John and KC from Sanidumps telling us the our RVs have to go and where to go.  My good buddy George in the booth for Holiday Trails, who refused to let us take a test drive with the quad that they had on display, is off my next year`s Christmas list.  All in all, we had a good Show and met a lot of great peaple.

Thanks to the following members for their time and help over the four-day Show: Rob Wright for taking time out to help me put the booth together, and the following for their coverage of the booth: Jim & Mary Lavery, Richard & Carol Arnason, Barry & Jan Clark, Don Smith, Gerry Walter, Peter & Cathy Lebrecque, Norm Green, Bill Wright, Trenor, Barba & Elizabeth Tilley, Erv & Heather Friedenstab, Mark Archambault, Tom & Laura Moses, George & Joyce McCluskie, with a little extra thanks to George and Joyce for helping me load the van at the end of the Show on Sunday.

Coming Events:

Yes, another RV show, namely the Humdinger RV Extravaganza to be on March 18 - 21 at Heritage Park in Chilliwack.  We will need people to cover our RVOABC booth during these four days as I don`t want to hog it all and I know that we have members who have been waiting their turn, so now it`s here. Give Jan Clarke a call at (604) 466-5432 or myself at (604) 596-9788 so that we may set you up with time and date. We usally spit it as follows:

First Shift: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Second Shift: 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Third Shift: 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Remember this is YOUR Club and we need your help. Here`s me thanking you in advance for lending a hand to promote the RVOABC and attract new members.

 Kick-off Rally in April/May

Held at the Burnaby Cariboo RV Park

Our first RALLY of the year is happening soon, on April 30 - May 2 in Burnaby, opening the 2010 RV travel season.  These facilities include an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, and exercise room.  Did I say exercise? I thought we get enough driving our RVs around.

You will receive an itinerary when you mail in your application found on page 60 of the R.V. Times magazine.  This Rally is extremely popular so don`t miss out. We have much fun and meet many new and not-so-new friends.

Campfire Rally in June

Held at Brae Island Regional Park, Fort Langley, B.C.

Don Smith, our Rally Guy, had everything set and ready to go for our Campfire Rally happening June 18 - 20. We will have have a meal on the Saturday night and will have further info coming in the next edition of this mag. Once again, it`s imperative that you register early as we must book our space well in advance and I know no one wants to miss out. Afterall, someone may find a trinket in one of those antique shops in downtown Fort Langley, or may just take a tour of Fort Langley National Historic Site.
