Greetings RVers,

What's this, another year on its way out? That almost seems impossible but yet it's true and for many the beginning of the southern comfort in the Sun Belt. No, not the booze, although for the rest of us staying here we will enjoy the season and look forward to the next. All the best from the Executive for a very loving and peaceful Christmas and New Years.

Fall Rally at Holiday Trails Resort in Sunshine Valley

This was a Rally I won't forget. I was looking out of the trailer window at approximately 6:45 a.m. to a view that is still hard to get out of my head. We wish someone had taken a picture of Maggie and Rob Wilson going through bags of garbage consisting of bingo sheets, paper cups and materials left over from the Saturday night Bingo game. Now that I wanted to check into so away I go to find out what they are doing. When I get there, the park manager, Brian, has arrived at the dumpster lending a hand and kindly explains to me that the Wilsons had inadvertently tossed out their 50/50 and raffle tickets for the morning draws!

The weather was perfect for our Rally, with many enjoying the indoor and outdoor swimming pools and hot tubs. This is truly one of the finest resorts we have held a Rally at with a fantastic turnout for our first time there.

SNOWBIRD Show at Tradex in Abbotsford, BC

This Show netted some more new members and very nice to see many other members out looking and drooling over the fine selection of new units.

A big thank you to Dave McColm and Jerry Walter our Webmaster who also stepped in by supplying his truck to transport the materials and put the booth display together. We need all the volunteers we can get for these Shows, not only for setup but also for manning the booth and take down. They were covered this time by Gillian & Jeff Martin along with Cathy & Rick Hughes who dropped by lending a hand as well helping Jerry load his truck to transport the materials back to the locker in Langley. Many thanks again.

Kick-Off Rally 2012 - Mark your calendars

The first Rally of 2012 is to be held at the Burnaby Cariboo RV Park on May 4, 5, 6. This Rally is great for those who have purchased another RV that's new to them. lt gives them the opportunity to check everything out before the many summer trips ahead.

EARLYBIRD 2012 RV Show & Sale at the Tradex in Abbotsford, BC

This show is scheduled to run February 2nd to 5th and once again we need volunteers. Look at it this way: if only 50% of the membership helped out, individuals would only need to participate once every five years. Our new Website is looking fantastic with the addition of PayPal now being accepted. This will make it much easier for people to join up and renew.

Please note that you will need to log on and set up a password for your personal use. This will be a user-friendly site that all will enjoy.

AGM

The Annual General Meeting AND the Special Meeting for Constitution Changes were held on October 15th at Traveland Supercentre, 20529 Langley Bypass, Langley and once again there were no changes in the Executive. A great turnout with many coming early for the Special Meeting held at 9:30 a.m. for a minor change in the wording of our Constitution.

Thanks to Dale Howes and staff of Traveland Supercentre for lending us the facilities and setting everything up for our meeting as well as supplying the attendees with a terrific lunch with hot and cold beverages. A special thanks to our host Jamie. She made sure coffee was brewing and kept bringing more as the thirsty ones drank it down. Thanks again and we hope to see you next year.

Also, at this time I wish to thank Martha Williams, Gillian Martin and Cathy Huges for offering their assistance for the year ahead. It is much appreciated. Martha will be filling in for me when I am out of town, and as needed. Gillian and Cathy will help with the Fall Rally as Don will not be available for that particular one.
